More than birds

I went to Louisville on Friday to make a trip to my favorite yarn store. I had finished my scarf (I need to take a picture to post!) and wanted to get a new project that I can work on over our 2 upcoming trips to Alabama. I wound up getting this green merino yarn:

Had I seen only the photo on the pattern, there is no way I would have chosen it. But they had a sample made up, and I got to try it on, and it is GORGEOUS! I don't know why the model feels compelled to stand with her elbow jutting out at that odd angle. Perhaps somebody put cement in her Secret? I promise never to stand like that once my sweater is done.

Speaking of sweaters, I wish I could knit some for these little guys:



They look cold.
