Annabelle and I took a tour of a couple of empty houses on post this morning to get an idea of what our choices will be like come this summer. Basically, the big choice is new vs. old. New is . . . well, new of course. But they are also smaller--about 2100 square feet as opposed to 3,000 and up in the older homes. On the other hand, they come equipped with fenced-in backyards (I'm lookin' at YOU, Ginger!). The old homes are amazing--each one has its little quirks and differences, which adds to the charm. Of course, some of them also--don't laugh--have ghosts. Stop laughing!

Oh the old. That front porch! That big ol' brick house! Oh jealous!!!! (Even with the scary wierd toilet in the basement.)
I am always going to go for the old and the funky. LOVE.
(Though the new is very nice for new.)
bonnie, they are both so lovely...yet the historic home has that special charm. be sure you have a secure basement cuz, bonnie, you'll be livin' in Kansas now! um, twister alley...just sayin....i suppose a bathroom in the basement would be most handy then...
The bathrooms in the new are tempting but, overall, I definitely like the old better. The fireplace, fixtures, front porch, staircase, etc. The extra room would be nice too - very generous sq. footage.

So much goes on in the historic district.. the Christmas lights are magical, the Ghost Tour is fun, and it's just so stinking charming!
